JVC Car Stero KD-R730BT
Clock reseting / changing itself
I searched for this problem with Google, and didn't get any results, so I'm putting this up in case anyone else runs into this problem.
I have a JVC KD-R730BT stereo in my truck. I do not have the satellite radio. This information probably applies to other JVC models as well, but I don't know.
All was well with the clock for over a year, it would lose a little time now and then, I'd reset it and all was well. Then one morning the clock was off by about 2 hours and 10 minutes. Puzzled, I reset it. Shortly it reset itself, back to the same time offset it had initially. I reset it again. It reset itself back. I couldn't keep the proper time for more than about 2 minutes without the clock resetting itself.
I downloaded the manual and while I was looking through it, I came across the "Clock Adj." setting. The manual said, "Displayed only when SIRIUS satellite radio or XM satellite radio is connected". So this should not apply to me? It was displayed in the clock settings though. It was set to "AUTO". I changed it to "OFF". Problem solved. I have no idea where the radio was getting this bogus time from, and why it suddenly became a problem.
